Yalla Shoot :The week ahead at Man Utd 17 to 23 July 2023

Midweek marks a memorable anniversary for United, as on this day in 1993 we signed eventual captain Roy Keane from Nottingham Forest. The midfielder would go on to win 17 major trophies with us, after spending 12 years in M16.

In the afternoon, we’ll be back in action for the second instalment of our 2023/24 warm-up matches, this time against Lyon in Edinburgh, and it kicks off at 14:00 BST.

It marks the last fixture on this side of the pond before we head Stateside for Tour 2023, so be sure to secure your ticket while you can! Fans who can’t get to the game in Scotland will be able to watch live on MUTV, ManUtd.com and the United App.

You’ll be able to see the short highlights from the encounter shortly after full-time, along with the extended versions, while the reaction will continue into the following day, before we turn our attention to the US leg of our summer schedule.

There will also be another signing anniversary to mark, as we celebrate two years since the arrival of United Women midfielder Vilde Boe Risa. We reckon that free-kick goal against Durham last season is one of her highlights since her joining the club – it was simply unstoppable!

Boe Risa could be the first Red in action at the Women’s World Cup too, when Norway take on co-hosts New Zealand in the opening match of the tournament. That Group A clash is an 8am kick-off (UK time) on Thursday morning.
