Agent Thiago on the case! Chelsea defender Silva asks Paulo Dybala about joining him at Stamford Bridge this summer after the pair bump into each other at Silverstone
- Thiago Silva has spoken to Paulo Dybala about a potential move to Chelsea
- Silva believes Dybala would make for an excellent addition to the Blues squad
- Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign him this summer after missing out in 2019
Thiago Silva says he has spoken to Paulo Dybala about potentially joining Chelsea but refuses to reveal ‘what he told him’.
The Roma forward has been mooted with a move to Stamford Bridge to link up with long-time admirer Mauricio Pochettino this summer.
Back in 2019, during his time at Tottenham, Pochettino tried to sign Dybala from former club Juventus but a deal couldn’t be struck.
He is now hoping for better luck with the Blues as he closely monitors the Argentine’s situation. Dybala’s contract at Roma expires in 2025 and has a £10.6million release clause inserted into it.
The Serie A side are understood to be keen on re-signing the 29-year-old and are ready to open talks about extending his current deal until 2026.
Paulo Dybala bagged 12 goals and six assists in 26 Serie A appearances for Roma last season
Dybala was at Silverstone to witness Max Verstappen win his eighth race of the 2023 F1 season
Thiago Silva was also at Silverstone and spoke to Dybala about a potential move to Chelsea
But for now Dybala is enjoying his time away from the pitch before he returns for pre-season training.
On Friday, he was in attendance to witness Carlos Alcaraz dismantle Alexander Muller on centre court and spent his weekend at Silverstone watching the British Grand Prix.
Silva was also at Silverstone for the main race on Sunday and bumped into Dybala.
‘I saw Paulo Dybala here, they talk about him at Chelsea,’ he told Sky Sports. ‘I hope he arrives.
‘I’ve talked with him and asked him if he is coming, he answered me, but I can’t say what he told me.
‘I would really like him to become a Chelsea player, he is a top player. It would help the team a lot.’
Silva also briefly touched upon Christian Pulisic’s expected move to AC Milan, saying: ‘Pulisic is a good guy, he’s going to do very well at Milan – the same as Ruben Loftus-Cheek.’
