Borussia Dortmund are on the hunt to find a replacement for their superstar midfielder, Jude Bellingham, who parted ways with the club earlier this month.
In a landmark move, the 19-year-old joined Real Madrid for a whopping £113million, signing a six-year deal, while also taking Zinedine Zidane’s old squad number, five.
The German club initially acquired the England midfielder in 2020 from Birmingham City for a £25m fee, but after three years, Edin Terzic’s side have now cashed in on a whopping £88m uplift on the midfielder.
Dortmund now find themselves in a very difficult situation in trying to find a suitable replacement for Bellingham who made 132 appearances scoring 24 goals across all competitions for the side.
While they narrowly missed out on clinching the Bundesliga title this season, Bellingham played a key part in his side’s success, playing 42 games across all competitions, returning 14 goals and seven assists, while even leading the team out as their captain on several occasions.

Edin Terzic is reportedly eyeing up an out-of-favour Chelsea star to replace the 19-year-old
It seems midfielders are in hot demand in the Premier League at the moment, with Declan Rice, Moises Caicedo and Mason Mount all being linked with moves away from their current clubs.
But Terzic’s side have identified out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as their prime target to succeed Jude Bellingham in the centre of the park.
That’s according to BILD Journalist Christian Falk, who claimed that Dortmund’s interest in the England youngster is ‘concrete and has been for months already’.
Gallagher has attracted much attention in recent years as a young emerging prospect who can play both as a deep-lying midfielder or step up into a more advanced position.
A raft of English clubs have expressed interest in the Chelsea academy graduate, with Tottenham, Newcastle and Liverpool all having been linked with the 23-year-old.
It comes as Dortmund had previously enquired about Gallagher, but failed to bid for the £50m rated star, and Mail Sport understands that while he is not a player that key figures at Chelsea want to leave, should the right offer come in, it could tempt them to part ways with the midfielder.
Speaking on Dortmund’s interest in Gallagher, Falke wrote in a column for CaughtOffside: ‘The interest in Conor Gallagher is very concrete and for months already.’
‘Now they see they need a player like Jude Bellingham, not just playing like Bellingham, but also showcasing an ability to play as a 6, 8 or 10. Dortmund see these things in Gallagher.’
He added: ‘The contract is until 2025, so they can pay him. They have the money from the Bellingham transfer and they also see – given he’s 23 years of age – he’s not too old to be an investment. So this is very realistic for Dortmund.’
Chelsea notably received a £45m bid from Everton in January for the midfielder, but it’s been a tricky season for him, largely failing to cement his place in the team’s starting XI, making just 18 starts from 37 Premier League appearances this campaign.

Mason Mount could be another Cheleseas academy graduate who could leave the club this summer
It comes amid Chelsea’s big summer fire sale, with Mail Sport reporting back in April that their home-grown talent could be one of several players to leave the club.
Fellow graduate from their Cobham academy Mason Mount also looks to be nearing a move to leave the club.
Meanwhile, Kai Havertz is set to join Arsenal on a £65m move, with N’Golo Kante already having joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad.
Kalidou Koulibaly, Hakim Ziyech could follow him to the Middle East, while Matteo Kovacic has agreed a £25m move to Manchester City.
